About Latter-Day Lights

Latter-Day Lights is the creative brainchild of Scott Brandley and Alisha Coakley – two long-time friends, who wanted to help members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to be able to share their stories and talents with other members, in an effort to enlighten and inspire them, and bring them closer to Christ on a weekly basis.

Scott Brandley

Scott was born and raised in Southern Alberta, Canada, but moved to Utah after serving a mission in Cape Town, South Africa.

As soon as Scott settled in Utah, he started an online business with his dad, selling LDS products.  Eventually they sold that business and started a successful software company, where he continues to spend the majority of his time.

His wife, Darla doesn’t think he actually works, but yet he somehow brings home real money – at least it looks real…

In 2014, Scott was called to serve as a Bishop in Ogden, and served diligently for over 5 years.  During that time, he was inspired to write a book to help members of the church build their faith.

Scott has four children, and likes spending his free time golfing and hanging out with his family.  He is currently a Gospel Doctrine Teacher.

Alisha Coakley

Alisha was born in Grand Haven, MI but grew up mostly in the SW Florida area. She and her husband have 3 gorgeous kiddos and 3 lazy cats, all of whom Alisha loves “smothering with her mothering.”

The gospel has always been a priority in her life, even at a very young age. She’s eager to serve wherever she can and often finds herself juggling a little too much because of her inability to say No

Currently, she works as a Social Media Brand and Marketing Manager for a top-producing realtor in her area. She’s also Primary President, a Grief Facilitator, and Head of Social Media for her children’s PTSO.

Along with launching this podcast, Alisha is also preparing to launch her first book and blog! Her self-proclaimed “Shiny Syndrome” can make it difficult to stay focused from time to time, but she’s determined to push through in an effort to become the person Heavenly Father needs her to be.
